My TPACK Journey

Through the creation of the eBook about "My TPACK Journey", I have learned many technological skills that can be applied even outside of the classroom. This includes my ability to use a variety of websites for different purposes (i.e. SlideRocket, Bitly, and Web Resizer). Before creating the eBook, I was only familiar with Microsoft Office tools such as Powerpoint, Word, or Excel. Using SlideRocket was an amazing experience for me as I learned how to use another form of technology to convey my thoughts and ideas to another audience outside of the classroom. As demonstrated in this eBook, I was able to not only create a slideshow on a topic relevant to myself as an educator, I was also able to enhance the eBook using a variety of strategies (i.e. different fonts, colour, music, and video).

I really enjoyed the concept of the eBook as a project-based lesson because I was able to work on a new skill each lesson, which lead me to creating this wonderful eBook to share with you! Having a project as the cumulating activity, really allowed me as the student to apply all of the skills that I have learned throughout the course. I hope to use a variety of project-based lessons within my future classroom because I believe that it allows students to really demonstrate and apply their learning of various skills, as I have done with the eBook.

In this course, I was able to create the eBook at my own pace, following instructions provided to me on a handout each class. I found this to be very useful because I was able to work at my own level, and focus on areas that I had trouble with. In my future classroom, I would follow a similar pedagogical strategy by providing students with the necessary resources to succeed, and acting as a facilitator within the class.

Overall, I really enjoyed creating this eBook because I have learned many new technological skills for myself as well as new pedagogical strategies for my future classes!

Sincerely,

Ms. Leung
